The Sizzle Academy Story: A Shared Passion Ignited
At just 16, Drew Suggs made a bold, life-changing decision: he moved thousands of miles from his Minnesota home to the sunny landscapes of Arizona. Here, he not only continued his athletic pursuits but also began cultivating his passion for mentorship. Drew dedicated his time to volunteering at recreational centers across the Valley, guiding and inspiring young people.
Catherine Suggs, a small-town girl from Nogales, AZ, discovered her passion for working with youth at the age of 14. She grew up involved in afterschool programs and harbored a deep desire to improve her community. This led her to a role as Executive Administrator at ICAN in Chandler, AZ, where she applied her extensive knowledge of both afterschool programming and non-profit operations.
It was while working with youth at a community center that Drew and Catherine's paths converged.
They quickly realized they shared a profound, common passion: to create something that could significantly impact a large number of individuals. This shared dream was simple yet powerful: to offer no-cost services to all demographics, providing opportunities not just for youth, but for entire families.
This dream became a reality with the creation of Sizzle Academy. We are dedicated to providing no-cost academic and athletic programming to the community and the student-athletes we serve.
Our mission is to transform athletes into well-rounded student-athletes, helping them develop their skills for developmental, recreational, and club teams. At Sizzle Academy, our mentors are committed to serving not only the youth but the entire community.

Whether it be working on a statewide campaign or at the legislature bringing opposing parties to a resolution, Blaze is a mission oriented leader who thrives on making his community a better place. An Arizona native and graduate from ASU, Blaze enjoys spending time with his wife and training for triathlons.

Kyndra, is a Digital Activation Manager at Intel Corporation within the Sales and Marketing Group. Prior to that role she was a Senior Manager of Marketing-Technology at Ideas Collide and served as the firm’s Senior Advisor on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Over her 10 years in marketing she has worked on national marketing automation

She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in both Journalism and Communication. Kyndra has served and worked along side many non-profits and served on non-profit/corporate guidance councils including most recently with Playworks Arizona. Her passion and energy is contagious, with a natural ability to lead and influence. She is a huge sports fan and is always active in the outdoors or on many travel adventures
